Dongshan bayberries began to enter the market in small volumes on June 3rd, 2018. One week later they will enter the market in large volumes. Supply will continue until the last week of June. The price is slightly higher than last year. It is estimated that the price will be around 20 yuan [3.13 USD] per 0.5 kg.
Donshan Town in Wuzhong is the most famous bayberry production area in China. The plantation history goes back a long time. There is currently a surface area of more than 333 hectares devoted to bayberry production. The bayberry production volume in Dongshan Town is estimated to reach around 1200 tons this year, which is at the same level as last year.
