Peruvian Government hands National Awards to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

The Ministry of Production (Produce) has handed the 2017 National Awards for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises to 15 entrepreneurs, who have stood out as creators of employment and as examples of inclusion, effort and business development in the country. 

At the award ceremony, the head of the sector pointed to "the effort made by micro entrepreneurs from different regions of the country." The minister highlighted the great success of the contest organised by the Ministry of Production, in which MSE's from all regions of the country participated for the first time. In total, 3,827 micro and small companies from the agro-business, service, trade, industry and aquaculture sectors took part, with 15 of them receiving the coveted award.

One of those awarded was Planet Cargo Peru, a company devoted for years to logistics services by land, sea and air. This is an essential service for exporters, importers, distributors and wholesalers involved in the country's agricultural sector. In addition to receiving the highest recognition of the State, this company, as well as the other winners, will be granted access for a year to training activities, technical assistance, business conferences, trade fairs and other events organised by the Ministry of Production.

At the ceremony, the work of the MSE's was divided into five major categories: Internationalization, Business associativity, Customer focus and vocation for excellence, Creativity and business innovation for sustainable development, and Improvements in working conditions to increase productivity.
