Sick of gun violence

UK citizen pastes carrots over guns on billboard

A father and a head master were fed up with gun-toting television adverts in an area with a known gun violence problem. Richard Selby and Graham Clifford did not like how Sky advertised their show BulletProof. ...So the duo simply pasted cartoon carrots and hair-dryers over the guns featured on the poster.

Walthamstow has suffered from a recent spate of youth violence in recent months. MP for Walthamstow, Stella Creasy, approved of the move and shared Mr Selby’s photos on social media. On Twitter she wrote: “A local dad felt that promoting guns in a community with a gun crime problem [was] not the way to tackle it, so applied some creative thinking to alternatives.”

Yellowad.co.uk reported on Mr Selby’s original Facebook post: “Too many shootings in London. I took exception to this poster for a Sky show which appeared at the end of my street the other day. Decided to somewhat improve it. Thanks to my friend Graham for joining in.”
