Grape harvest in Mersin has started

The early season grapes harvest has started in Erdemli, Mersin and the fruit is being sold at 3.75 – 5 USD price per kg range. The first shipment has already arrived in Istanbul.

The grapes were of specific “Yalova Pearl” variety. The products were sold in a very short time in the wholesaler market in Istanbul.

The growers were very happy with the prices and claimed that these grapes are in comparable quality with the in-season grapes. They have been able to grow these grapes only in 4.5 months and more growers are expected to follow their example and grow this specific variety.
