Peru develops potential of fruit exports to Asia

The president of the Peruvian Farmer's Association stated that Peru has established a place for itself among the important food export countries in the world. He stressed that Asia is a large market for fruit exports. Peru only exported fruit and vegetables worth 300 million USD in 2017, while it purchased fruit and vegetables worth 4.1 billion USD.

A spokesperson for the Farmer's Association stated that Peru must formulate a strategy to diversify its export with other valuable products such as nuts, hickory, and large jujubes. Peru must utilize its natural strengths, such as organic environment, traceable products, and a healthy farm industry, to meet the demands of domestic and export markets.
