The First Avocado Festival held in Peru was a big success

The 1st Avocado Festival, organized by the Associations of Avocado Producers of the Chincha Valley, was held on the 12th and 13th of April in the district of Alto Laran-Chincha-Ica, in Peru and was a great success.

The event, which included numerous activities for the dissemination of knowledge about the avocado, also had a contest for the best quality fruit. The contest was won by La Inmaculada Concepcion de Huamanpali Association of Farmers, which was awarded work tools, plants grafted with avocados, and organic fertilizers.

The companies were able to exhibit and sell their agricultural products, do business to finance their crops, while the fruit nurseries had the opportunity to exhibit and sell avocado plants that were already grafted and clones.

The festival will be held again next year and the organizers expect to continue improving the organization and the execution of all activities.
