Capespan North America is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Jones to the position of Director of USA Sales and Francis J. Werner to the position of Director of USA Operations.
In the position of Director of USA Sales Eric will be responsible executing Capespan North America’s USA sales strategy, leading and directing the sales team, managing key customer relationships, expanding sales and developing business. Eric will work out of Capespan North America’s US sales office at Gloucester City, NJ and will report directly to Capespan North America’s General Manager USA, Erin Meder.
Eric comes to Capespan North America with over fifteen years of diversified fresh produce sales experience. Eric began his career as a fresh produce category director with a major food retailer in Western Pennsylvania and continued in California where he served as Sales Director for a large California citrus and table grape grower, packer and shipper. Most recently, Eric served as a senior sales representative on the US east coast for a fresh produce importer and distributor.
Capespan North America’s Erin Meder, notes, “Eric brings a wealth of knowledge in fresh produce sales and service to the position as well as extensive experience in key customer management. I have no doubt that he will help drive Capespan North America’s business forward, expand our sales reach and serve our growers and customers well.”
In the position of Director of USA Operations, Francis Werner will be responsible for directing all aspects of Capespan North America’s operational procedures and disciplines in the USA from vessel discharge through product clearance, regulatory compliance, quality control, inventory management, value-adding processes and product expediting. Fran will also take a leadership role in Capespan North America’s relationship with the various port operators and service providers with whom it works and will serve as its primary operational liaison with the USA government agencies that regulate the importation and distribution of fresh produce.
Fran will work out of Capespan North America’s operations office at Gloucester, NJ and will report to the General Manager USA.
Fran joins Capespan North America with over twenty-five years of experience in fresh produce operations including positions in port operations and general operations management of fresh produce imports.
