Del Monte back at the Vado Ligure port

Del Monte and Reefer Terminal spa, the company controlled by Apm Terminals that manages port facilities dedicated to fresh produce and their handling, have signed an agreement. The Vado port has acquired a leading position for the logistics of perishable products in northern Italy. The agreement regards mainly bananas and pineapples from Latin America.

The Vado Ligure reefer terminal is the largest refrigerated port terminal in the Mediterranean with 50,000 sq m dedicated to fresh produce unloading operations and storage.

"The agreement signed with a leading company such as Del Monte confirms the high-quality of the services offered thanks to the know-how and experience acquired over the years. The Vado port is one of the main hubs in the fresh produce chain with scope for growth," explains Paolo Cornetto, managing director for Apm Terminals spa.

According to Del Monte Italia's sales manager Stefano Polidori, "the cooperation with Reefer Terminal spa will strengthen our position in northern Italy and pave the way to new collaborations in the area. We couldn't be happier to consider new business opportunities."
