Mandarins promoted as a spring snack and pistachios included in snack box

A few months ago, Wonderful Halos started off the Halo season by launching a Point of Sale (POS) display program entitled, Halos 'Grove of Goodness'. Now, the company has launched its first-ever “Spring Spectacular” POS in stores and on display. “More than mid-way through the season and just in time for the Spring/Easter holiday, we are expanding our fruitful year of creating visually-captivating and engaging in-store displays,” says Adam Cooper with the Wonderful Company. “That’s making shopping in-store interactive and fun.”

This cart-stopping strategy is part of an integrated 360-approach to marketing Wonderful Halos that continues to drive sales, consumer demand and increased market-share in-store and out of store by promoting Halos as springtime’s perfect healthy snack for the whole family. Currently, more than half of consumers who purchase mandarins make the decision to purchase in-store and 96 percent of Halos inventory today sells through on display. The “Good Choice, Kid” campaign currently includes national TV ads, print and digital offerings, including a robust influencer and social media program with Wonderful Halos at the center of Easter-themed posts. The Wonderful Halos season ends in May.

Pistachios target football fans
In addition to Halos, the Wonderful Company has also been actively promoting Wonderful Pistachios. The company’s football program wrapped up last month. This past football season, Wonderful Pistachios invested $55 million in an integrated marketing campaign, ‘Put a Smile on your Snackface’. “This included our biggest football campaign ever where the brand doubled down on sports and their commitment to healthy,” said Cooper. ‘Put a Smile on your Snackface’ campaign featured former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman and Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.

“The brand saw great success targeting football fans nationwide,” Cooper continued. "In fact, for the two weeks leading up to Super Bowl (1/22 – 2/4) which is Wonderful Pistachios’ 2nd highest consumption occasion, sales were up by six percent versus a year ago which made it our biggest Super Bowl ever." A large part of the increase is due to the brand’s 3-bin football wraps which were included in over 5,000 stores.

March Madness
Due to the success of the cart-stopping football displays, Wonderful Pistachios is looking to replicate that success during March Madness with a 3-bin basketball court wrap. Additionally, Wonderful Pistachios is partnering with SnackNation to celebrate heart-healthy snacking for a heart-racing March Madness month. “This is the first ever dedicated box that SnackNation is implementing which will be delivered to over 3,500 offices and hundreds of thousands of office workers nationwide,” Cooper said.
