"It is a great honor and a great opportunity to show that we are an excellent supplier of organic and functional products in an international showcase. It will allow us to promote the Super Foods Peru sector brand, a strategy that goes hand in hand with the global trend of having a healthy life. It will be a new challenge for the sector and business associations, along with other Peruvian public institutions, will join efforts to enhance the image of our country," said Luis Torres Paz, Promperu's Export Promotion Director.
The Peruvian delegation that participated in Biofach 2018 was composed of 117 exporters, who had 445 appointments with current clients and made more than 1,200 new contacts.
The most demanded Peruvian superfoods were quinoa, maca, chestnuts and cocoa products; which were showcased along with other products, such as sacha inchi oil, avocado oil, and Brazil nut oil. The delegation also showcased, chia, canihua, amaranth, lucuma, kion, avocado, banana, granadilla, granulated panela, maca, yacon, aguaymanto, carob, and camu camu.
