China: Shenzhen port returns 17 tons of Chilean cherries

A shipment of 17.7 tons of Chilean cherries entered customs through the Man Kam To control point in Shenzhen on January 29th. An employee of the Man Kam To Office for Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine carried out on-site tests and discovered that the cherries showed signs of going soft, leaking, and mildew. Upon dissection it was found that the interior of the fruit was discolored and rotten. Furthermore, it emitted a nasty odor. This was in gross violation of hygiene standards. The Man Kam To Office has already returned this shipment of Chilean cherries to its point of departure.
