EU apple shortage creates opportunities for Chinese apples

Poland has a time-honored apple production that can be traced back to before the foundation of the People's Republic of China. Over 80% of its production is exported, making it the world's largest apple exporter. Because of supply and demand issues on the apple market, several countries from the European Union, such as Poland, have imported 9,600 tons of concentrated apple products from China from July until September this year. That is three times as much as last year. The apple shortage on the European market has led to an increase in the European apple price. The large growth in imports cannot cancel out this negative influence on the price. In the middle of November, the price of Polish concentrated apple juice was twice as high as last year. The Chinese processed apple production has increased 8.6%.
