China: Hebei pears exported to Chile

According to information from the Shijiazhuang import and export Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, on 7 October the first batch of fresh pears from Shijiazhuang were sent to Chile. This marks the first time that fresh Hebei pears have been exported to the Chilean market.

In November 2004, China and Chile signed the 'treaty for inspection requirements of Chinese pear transport to Chile'. But because there were no clients, no trade had in fact been established since then. In October 2016, the Chinese Quality Inspection's main office invited Chilean agricultural experts to reevaluate the Chinese pear production on site.
