Italy: Apofruit widens its Solarelli seedless grape range
The global grape market is increasingly requiring seedless varieties therefore Apofruit, a cooperative specialising in the production of high-quality produce, is introducing new "seedless" varieties.
Thanks to its over 4,000 partners, it's widening its high-quality Solarelli range to include white, black and red grape varieties available in special packaging. There are also "Chicche di Natura - Solarelli", 80 gram "on the go" pots perfect for carrying to work or to school.
There are now seven Solarelli varieties on the market:
Sugraone®, white and sweet, early and available between early July and mid September.
Sophia®, white, harvested between early August and late September, big aromatic grapes reminiscent of muscat.
Timpson® white and very sweet, among the best white table varieties, available between late July and late September, large oblong grapes, excellent taste.
Midnight Beauty®, large black grapes, harvested between early July and mid September.
Timco®, red variety harvested in August.
Allison®, red variety available in September and October and ...
Scarlotta®, red variety harvested between late September and early November.
"The global consumption of seedless grapes is skyrocketing especially in the UK, US, northern Europe, Germany, China and the Middle East. In Italy, demand is increasing especially in big cities in the north. The market share has reached 46%. By introducing seedless grapes, Apofruit decided to take up the challenge, sure that quality will make all the difference. We are growing our grapes in the best areas - Puglia, Basilicata and Sicily."
