China: Durian ''out of stock period'' will continue until July 20

Recently, durians, which are usually in abundance on the streets, suddenly became hard to find. Even if there are some durians left, the prices are exorbitant. Previously, there were plenty of durians from the northen part of Thailand and the price was pretty accessible. In June, Wuxi market was full of Thai durians. But by the end of the month, they had almost disappeared from the market and durians from the eastern part of Thailand haven't arrived yet. This noticeble gap in supplies is called the ''out of stock period''.

This ''out of stock period'' is going to last until July 20, when durians from Eastern Thailand will fill the market again. Of course, prices won't be so unstable as they were last month. At this moment, the number of durians from Thailand is not that high and the prices are going ''up and down''. Therefore, while there is a lack of durians, sellers will be trying to stockpile them and get a higher price.
