Application of RVS increases food safety of sorting machines

The theme of food safety has been an understanding that has played an important role in the development of food processing machines at DT Dijkstra for years. Food safety and hygiene play a particularly import role in machines where consumption production comes into direct contact with the machine construction or conveyor belts. This trend has been used in the processing line in particular.

For the DT Dijkstra products playing into food safety and hygiene is mainly for the machines for washing and drying, conveyor belts and bunkers. It is mainly consumption products that are processed here, that end up with the consumer with their peel still intact. This is why the risk of bacterial growth and product contamination must be prevented. Many machines in this process are RVS applied and conveyor belts are made of food safe PVC varieties. The other applied (plastic) parts, oils and fats are also food safe.

Stricter demands
A new development on the market of processing of agrarian products is the demand for food safe machines in the sorting process. Where previous this part was seen as the so-called 'black part' of the process, the demands for this are increasing equal to this in processing.

Food safe machines
DT Dijkstra chose FDA approved paint for the powder coating of all its machines and transport systems years ago, ahead of the trend. Recently the performance of the sorting machine was adjusted so that it can work with completely food safe materials. The sorting machines can also be supplied in a food safe and water rinsable versions. All parts that come into the product to be processed are fitted with RVS.

The option exists for other parts to be fitted with RVS and the FDA approved powder coat and materials. For less dirt attachment and easier cleaning the ends of the sorting machines can also be fitted with PTFF (teflon) plates.
