Ghazi Rouissi, CEO House of Dates:

"For dates, demand is always larger than volume"

Dates are becoming more popular. “The best known variety from Tunisia is Dyna. Many people are familiar with Medjoul dates, but we have various varieties that are even sweeter. The Dyna has a very special flavour. Besides conventional dates, we also offer organic vegetables.”

3,000 palm trees
Ghazi Rouissi, CEO from House of Dates in Tunisia, indicates the company was founded in 1927. “My grandfather founded House of Dates, and I took over the business 20 years ago. We have more than 3,000 palm trees for the production of dates, and export to buyers worldwide. It’s difficult to grow the production because the natural production area is limited.”

According to him, mutual competition isn’t very tough. “For dates, demand is always larger than volume. It’s a very popular product, and that will remain the case in future. We hope to reach many new countries in coming years.”
