London Produce Show brings together the sharpest minds in fresh produce

The London Produce Show and Conference (LPS), presented by the Fresh Produce Consortium and Produce Business, brings together some of the most shrewd and respected minds from the global fresh produce industry and beyond to present a series of educational seminars and workshops that explore the topics and issues which impact directly or indirectly on the working lives of every show attendee.

"We have two stages of seminars running throughout June 8, 2017 during the LPS. The main stage will be hosted by Claire Powell and the overriding theme for the day revolves around marketing fresh produce to children. We will open with a morning of educational sessions, sponsored by The Embassy of the Netherlands in the UK on behalf of the Dutch fresh fruit and vegetable sector. A host of expert speakers from Holland will give an overview and analysis of their national action plan to increase the daily intake of fresh produce in children in The Netherlands," representatives of the conference stated.

This year's LPS Show Ambassador, and Patron of the Children’s Food Trust, Prue Leith, will be taking to the LPS stage to address the audience with her thoughts on getting children to eat more fruit and vegetables.

"If food education was part of every child’s curriculum at school, so that every child was taught about food, learned to cook, and was encouraged to eat a decent diet, we’d go a long way to solving the obesity problem in the space of one generation." says Leith.

Jack Hamilton of Mash Direct will continue in the same vein and highlight their campaign to increase fresh produce consumption in city children.

Award-winning Max MacGillivray will also be on hand to tell about his Great Fruit Adventure through Africa inspiring kids to develop healthier attitudes to eating.

Nic Jooste, Marketing Director of Cool Fresh Group, will showcase how to overcome and deliver a better marketing campaign ‘8 seconds and you are gone.’ The challenges of marketing Fresh Produce to children.

Lastly, Quentin Clark, Director Business Collaboration, LEAF, will discuss linking farming to the consumers of tomorrow. Further information about the event and how to register can be found on the London Produce Show website.
