UAE, a growing market for Spanish exporters
The UAE is a destination that, due to its location and climate, needs to buy products in the international market. "We are shipping about 40,000 kilos of carrots every week for a supermarket chain," comments Eugenia Menéndez, assistant manager at Mengis Export. "It is a customer that we already had, because they had previously also ordered iceberg lettuce and white onions from us," explains Menéndez, who comments that the client itself found them on the recommendation of a third party.
"We believe we could have a long-term, lasting business relationship," says Menéndez. This company is currently shipping 80% of its products to the United Arab Emirates. "It is a market that is on the rise; they have already assumed that if they want good products, they have to buy them from overseas," adds the representative of Mengis Export.
