Nino Venezia, Dutch Graphic Group:

"Second LED printing press will soon arrive"

At the start of this month the Dutch Graphic Group in Venlo, the former Graphic&Mail, introduced the latest size colour Mark Andy P5 printing press, based on LED Technology. The demand for the graphic products is so high that the owner, Nino Venezia already has plans to purchase a second similar printing press.

The Dutch Graphic Group is the preferred partner for supplying quality labels for many companies in the fruit and vegetable and flower industry. "We known the branch's method of working and quality demands and have a continual supply of material to supply our customers quickly and professionally. This is why more and more companies are choosing us. They don't want long waiting times," says Nino.

According to Nino the positive atmosphere in horticulture means that more companies are coming up with creative ideas. "We work based on a total concept and take care of the graphic products from A to Z. With some companies you get complete freedom and with the larger market parties you are mostly bound by a house style guide," says Nino.

According to the full service supplier, a trend in label land is a switch from the traditional thermo labels to polypropylene (pp), a plastic which gives the labels a nice shine. "These transparent labels mean the product is visible behind the packaging, which makes it appear more stylish than the white labels you often see on flowpack."

Another popular solution is the top label that the Dutch Graphic Group develops for shakers. "We make sure that the hole at the top of the shaker is laminated and so glue never comes into contact with the product," says Nino. "Sustainability is an important part of our company. Our LED printing press is ozone neutral and the ink is 'food-approved'."

The second LED printing press was originally planned for 2018, but due to the high demand Nino is already organising the purchase. "I'm tired of outsourcing work. It's a large investment, but we will be ready to take care of everything for our customers. We will continue to do this the way we know how. We work as a family company, put everything we make back into the business and have no overheads."
