The Greenery starts auctioning strawberries directly from fields
After last year’s success, The Greenery will once again auction strawberries directly from the field. According to Marin Robbertsen from The Greenery, auctioning directly from the fields went well last year. The customers knew where their strawberries came from, and they were very satisfied with the quality.
“Because of last year’s success, we will expand auctioning directly from the fields with one grower, so that we’ll auction from two fields this year. We selected these two growers especially because of their quality and location,” says Marin, who is a senior salesperson of soft fruit for The Greenery. Both locations can easily be reached by lorries, and are close to the German border.
Grower Cox in Horst will offer blue punnets in pool containers at one euro.
Grower Van Rijn in Venlo is new. This grower will offer pulp punnets in wooden crates at one euro. Just like last year, people can only buy full pallets. The pool containers are 72 to one euro pallet, and the wooden crates are 64 to one euro pallet.
