Search ‘Kom in de Kas’ in your browser, and you could lose an entire day looking at the photos and video impressions. And we would also like to add to that, in response to our call of last Friday to send in photos, we received snapshots from all corners of the country. We have put these in a photo report that can be viewed HERE.
It was no different in the Rijsberg and Roelafarendsveen region. “Huge crowds,” was the headline in the Leidsch Dagblad. People could visit various companies by means of small boats.
In the Uden region there was a rush on Saturday, according to the Brabants Dagblad, and the event caused traffic jams.
In Flevoland, six growers in Luttelgeest and 14 in Almere Buiten opened their doors to the audience. Omroep Flevoland says they also had massive crowds, at Tas Paprika, for example. “Tas Paprika had hundreds of people in their greenhouses in just the first hour after opening.”
Another example: According to BN DeStem, who visited growers in Plukmade, it must almost be the case that De Efteling, a Dutch theme park, had hardly any visitors. The newspaper estimated the attendance at 10,000.
In Groningen, seven growers opened their doors. In Sappermeer and Zuidbroek, the most important greenhouse horticultural areas in the province, cars were parked in the shoulder for miles along the National Highway-Oost in Sappermeer (this was for the Smit Kwekerijen company: the largest horticultural company in Groningen, with 14 hectares). This was according to Dagblad van het Noorden.
