Truckers protest against Chiquita Panama

Articulated truck owners are on the march in the province of Bocas del Toro, protesting against Chiquita Panama.

The truckers complain that the company wanted to take them out of business, as it was using its own transport, leaving them without work. "I've been working in this industry for 15 years," said Edgar Contreras, a trucker. "And now, overnight, I might lose my job," he stated.

In total, more than 50 truck drivers demanded an answer from the national government led by Juan Carlos Varela.
