Italy: Pio Del Prete invests in black garlic

"After considering the better antioxidant properties of black garlic compared to traditional garlic, we started importing it from Spain," reports Pio Del Prete.

The company was established in 1950, when it started growing and distributing fresh and dried garlic. Over the years, it became one of the leaders in this sector and diversified its range to include onions, shallots, carrots and dried fruit.

The attention paid to research and development led to the introduction of two new products - black garlic and small carrots.

Black garlic is packaged in an elegant black box which also contains information as regards the beneficial properties of this bulb. Single boxes are then placed in a practical black display stand.

Black garlic is distributed in the domestic territory for retailers and the catering industry. "In addition, we are also working on black garlic sweets."

The company also selects and purchases prestigious varieties from various Italian and foreign regions. The produce is processed and packaged according to dealer needs.

"Our objective is to guarantee high-quality products maintaining high food safety standards, improving operations and establishing a relationship of mutual trust with out clients," reports the administrator (in the photo).

In addition, the company pays great attention to detail and develops practical packaging specific for all types of products.
