More companies, stronger brands, increased product offering

Chinese companies at Berlin Fruit Logistica

From yesterday until Friday February the 10th, Fruit Logistica is taking place in Berlin and is one of the largest annual events in the fresh produce industry. The exhibition is the largest in Europe and hosts all major European traders, growers and exporters.

Each year, more Chinese companies are present. The majority are vegetable growers and exporters. The biggest export products to Europe are ginger, garlic, pomelo, apples and pears but recently technology producers and service providers have also found their way to Berlin. Along with these, a number of packaging producers and exporters are present as well.

Chinese companies are offering many services this year including sorting line developers, data logger designers, logistics providers and machine producers for the fresh produce industry.

Good Farmer is one of these companies and has had a large team for years. Other export companies have also been investing in their brand name and visibility. Already well known brands and supermarket suppliers will also be there including Xiamen Bona Industry, Xiamen Rayen, and Qingdao Sinonut.

Two other tech companies attending are Cydiance Technology, a developer and producer of data trackers for the domestic and international market, and Reemoon Technology, a sorting equipment producer. Reemoon is shipping its lines to growers and packers in South Africa, Europe and South America. They are showing off a part of their line which is installed at the exhibition.

Anqiu Baisheng Food is a grower of garlic, ginger and other vegetables who is also attending. The company has a stand in Berlin to meet with its European buyers.

Although the Hong Kong equivalent in September hosts more Chinese participants, Chinese brands are gaining international ground also in Europe.
