10% drop in yearly export of produce from Taiwan to mainland China

2016 saw a change of the ruling political party in Taiwan and a stalling of relations with China. This led to a setback in produce export. According to a statistic produced by the Agricultural Committee, exports of produce from Taiwan to China were worth 905 milion dollars last year, which was a drop of 9.39% compared to the previous year. The outside world is questioning whether the rather sluggish exchange this year was brought about by the change of ruling parties, which the Agricultural Committee denies, blaming the drop on the cold weather and typhoons that Taiwan had to suffer throughout last year.
