Siem van der Valk, BioWorld:

“Organic assortment in German retail quickly increasing”

Yesterday, Siem van der Valk from BioWorld visited a number of supermarkets in Germany, and he noticed that the assortment of organic products is increasing very quickly. “A few years ago, I saw maybe four organic products on the shelves of a discounter, recently I counted at least 14. At a more luxurious chain, every main product also had an organic version,” the trader explains at the BioWorld site.

“One helpful factor is the enormous expansion in Spain, meaning most products can be put on the shelves at affordable prices. The quality of organic products in general was no worse than that of conventional versions. I am pleased to see the organic assortment growing more and more,” Van der Valk concludes.
