Present next week during PMA Fruittrade Chile

LBP has new office in Peru

The South American market is important for LBP. People are active in many countries on this continent, LBP even started an office in Peru on 1 September. LBP’s office in Peru is in Barranco, Lima. “That office exclusively deals with promoting the services we offer in Europe,” says Anton Filippo. “We certainly do not have the intention to start as a shipping agent in Peru. There are others who are much better at that, but making our services in the Netherlands known in Peru is currently a good opportunity with this growth.”

In addition to Peru, Chile is also a focus market for LBP. “As the only Dutch company, we will present ourselves during the Chilean edition of the PMA. The PMA Fruittrade is a fair and business-to-business event that has existed for years already, but it has only been organised under the auspices of PMA three times so far. We will have our own booth for the third time,” says Anton Filippo, who will represent the logistics service provider from Maasdijk in Santiago in the coming week. “During earlier editions, we regularly went to the Fruittrade as visitors to come into contact with Chilean companies during business-to-business sessions,” he continues. “But because we are no longer allowed to participate in those sessions, as a service provider, having our own booth was a good alternative.”

The PMA Fruittrade is a relatively small event.
“The Chilean fair is a small fair as regards size, but it is a fair where all Chilean exporters at least show their faces. That offers opportunities to maintain networks, greet old friends, but also to come into contact with potential customers,” according to Filippo. “That is the main goal of every fair, but especially in Chile we managed to increase our field of activity significantly because of this.”

LBP Rotterdam BV has existed for more than 22 years, and as a logistics service provider, they are active in the fresh produce sector. Furthermore, LBP mostly works overseas for the exporters who use the facilities in Maasdijk to sell their trade in Europe. “In addition, we check quality, we personally take care of clearing, inspections and any export documentation, we store the trade in one of our 26 cells, and offer the possibility to repack fruit when there are problems. We also have packing lines for berries and citrus, and we can flowpack, or pack the fruit in nets, and so on,” Filippo says.

During the year, the Chilean fruit trade uses many of LBP’s services. “During the coming week, we are going to Santiago to see if we can expand our clientele in Chile. Of course we will also visit many permanent relations. PMA Fruittrade also always offers unexpected opportunities. That is why we will be present on 9 and 10 November.”
