Packing and repacking station increases productivity, Total Exotics
Total Exotics has brought a BCK Holland packing and repacking station into use. “Ever since my appointment, I have been working on increasing efficiency, productivity and working conditions in the packing and repacking department,” says Abdelkader Banchagra of Total Exotics in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands. He indicates they have grown enormously in recent years, resulting in a lack of space. “By means of this logistical solution by BCK Holland, we can once more grow on our current production location, and we have taken our opportunity to increase production by more than 30 per cent.”
Construction of the system
“The packing and repacking station has been provided with a long workbench with lighting on either side and three rollways assembled one above the other in one frame. The input consists of two driven rollways: the top one for the empty crates, and the middle one for full crates that have to be repacked,” says André Huijgen of BCK Holland. “On both lanes, the crates will have certain space, making it easy to pick them up. The full crate is repacked on the workbench. Then the newly filled/repacked crate will be taken, via the continuously rolling bottom rollway, to a gravitational rollway. There, the contents of the crate are provided with a label before the crate is placed on a pallet. The repacking station offers room for 16 workplaces in total, and also has shelves for the benefit of crates that can be used for rejected products. The packing and repacking station has compact measurements and is equipped with swivelling wheels, making it easy to move and transport to other locations.”
