An innovative new product for automated packaging is about to be unveiled at the upcoming PMA Fresh Summit, according to Gary Ward from Johnson Matthey. "This could be the future of MA/MH bulk packaging!"

Johnson Matthey has developed a unique MA/MH film structure that is applicable for flow pack machines. “The implications of our new technology Xflow are significant”, says Dr. Gary Ward, Technical Development Manager at Johnson Matthey, ACT-Tefen, Israel, “improved throughput, reductions in material usage and waste as well as savings in labor make using Xflow in automated bulk packaging for fresh produce items like melons, pomegranates and stone fruits extremely exciting!”

Italian packing machine veteran and business partner, Delfin Srl. has developed the prototype machine ‘Galaxy 1200’ especially designed for automated packing with Johnson Matthey’s Xflow. The Galaxy 1200 is now available for testing through Delfin’s handler in California, Main Line Industry Inc.

“The Galaxy 1200 machine is designed for any produce item packed in trays. The packaging width is adjustable depending on the packers needs,” says Delfin Srl. Owner Alberto Drago, “We are delighted to be in partnership with Johnson Matthey to offer the fresh produce industry such an exceptional new way to enjoy the benefits of MA/MH freshness technology and improve packing operations and costs.”

At the show you can visit the Johnson Matthey PMA booth #1917 and discuss how you can test the new Galaxy 1200 packer for Xflow.

"Also to be showcased at PMA is our new Xbloom line of packaging designed to up to double shelf life of a variety of carnations and roses, currently being marketed across South America and Europe."

“We look forward to discussing product portfolio for extending storability and shelf life of fresh produce and flowers at this year’s PMA. See you all in Orlando!” Rani Kadosh, Sales & Business Development Manager at Johnson Matthey, North America.
