Canadian strawberry season looks good

The strawberry harvest has just begun in Canada for some producers. According to Mitch Deschatelets, Manager of the Leisure Farm in Sturgeon Falls, the season will be "delicious".

Mr Deschatelets thought that the the first harvest would be delayed due to the cold weather over the spring, but he explains that they have just had a week of hot weather, which sped everything up. “For the first day of harvest, there are more strawberries than normal” says Mr Deschatelets.

Both the pick-your-own and the sales season will last for about four weeks.
