Oslo, Norway:

Freshly pressed, personalised juice delivered to workplace daily

Fruit delivery services and juice are big business in Norway. When entrepreneur Eric Costa Øvrebø was looking to start his own business, he decided to combine the two concepts. Another important driving force behind the idea was personal, family illness inspired him to adopt a healthy lifestyle and the desire to help others do the same.

"One of my family members passed away when I was young due to cancer. Another family member has high cholesterol and other serious health issues. This was my incentive to adopt a healthy lifestyle and find ways to get other people to do the same! That is what drives me." shares Eric.

Råjuice, based in Oslo, is a fresh juice delivery service which offers the opportunity to have juice delivered to the workplace from Monday-Friday. It started with individual subscriptions and has blossomed into the juice being ordered by companies for meetings, breakfast seminars and other events. As an added service, the company also offers customised labels which they design in house, quite often with the individual company logo and slogan.

"When I was thinking about starting a juicing business I had a look into the market in Norway to see what the competitors were doing. They all had a direct sales point and were all going directly to customers, to diversify and give myself an edge, I decided to target companies and having a subscription base." said Eric.

The menu is seasonal and changes every month.

"Since we change the whole menu for our subscribers every month, it forces us to be creative with the ingredients and invent new flavours. We have never used the same recipe two for consecutive months. So we really try to push the boundaries of which juice flavours and ingredients we can combine to continue to be innovative within that field."

The company currently sources its vegetables from one of the largest suppliers in Norway, but Eric said that he would like to eventually switch over to buying directly from local growers whenever possible.

"The most important thing for our juices is that it has high nutritional value, but of course, flavour is also extremely important. We choose the fruits, vegetables and herbs we use with both of these factors in mind."

The juice is cold pressed and made fresh every morning starting at 5am and are delivered the same day.

The current flavours which are the most popular at the moment are Pineapple, Jerusalem artichoke, mint and green apple and a vegetable juice made with kale, spinach, apple, celery and lemon.

As of now, the juice delivery service is only available in Oslo, but the company has been looking towards expanding into other cities in the future.

"What sets our juice apart is that it has never been sitting on the shelves of a store, it has never been frozen and is not pasteurised... nothing has been done to it. It is just pure fresh fruits and vegetables and we try to make it as fresh as possible for both the nutritional value and the quality."
