Fenaco launches apples for allergy sufferers

Fenaco will soon launch apple varieties, which are suitable for people with an apple allergy.

About 10% of the Swiss population has an apple allergy, states an online edition of the UFA-Revue. For these people, apples will be available: Fenaco established a partnership with the Bavarian fruit center, which cultivates and markets new apple varieties suitable for allergy sufferers. And later they will propagate these apple trees.

Currently, the anti-allergy apples are tested by Swiss producers, the UFA-Revue continues. In the next 12 months another 10,000 trees will be added. The apples are sold in Swiss supermarkets. According UFA-Revue the new varieties meet the expectations of consumers in terms of taste, appearance and shelf life.
