Portuguese leafy green harvest starts



On Saturday, 23 April Mother Nature started its first harvest of iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, lollo rosso and oak leaf lettuce in Portugal. Subsequently, during the coming weeks the harvest of broccoli, oxheart cabbage, frisée lettuce, savoy cabbage, cauliflower and napa cabbage will commence. All class I, packaged according to the customers wishes.

“I am now personally in Portugal to supervise everything, and to process orders for our direct buyers in the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Germany, the UK and Estonia,” John Voogd says. “Within the Netherlands we supply both directly to supermarkets and to exporters, who take the products further into Europe.”
