The start of a cooperation
METRO GROUP concludes take-over of RUNGIS express
Last Friday the take-over of RUNGIS express by METRO was made official. This makes the trading company in exclusive foods an official part of the METRO GROUP.
Prior to the take-over the cartel authorities and the Board of METRO have given their approval. “We are happy that we can now go on to discuss in detail the steps for our future cooperation with RUNGIS express,” states Pieter C. Boone, member of the Board of METRO AG and CEO of METRO Cash & Carry. In February METRO GROUP stated its intention to take-over the trading company in exclusive foods in Germany. Other companies on the acquisition wish list are the logistic operation of the German Cool Chain Group and the Swiss premium caterer Fideco.
The company will remain organizationally independent and the RUNGIS express brand will continue to exist. At the operational level the new partner will work together with the Food Service Distribution-Team of METRO Cash & Carry Germany.
