Construction began in 2012, in three phases. Total constructed area measures 140,000 square metres. Phase I and Phase II are the core areas of the centre. They include five divisional areas: city-to-rural and city-to-international coordination area, financial area, electronics area, media services area, and general economic area. The remaining Phase III will provide supplementary services to the centre, with modern office buildings.
The centre consolidates cold-chain logistics, transport, storage, finance, and related services into one complex, making it the largest integrated logistics centre of Zhoushan. The centre will cater for surrounding regions and become the logistic hub, catalysing the regional economic development. The centre is expected to provide storage to 300,000 tons of goods, to be shipped throughout China.
