The company Wonderful presented its new drink Pomegreat during Fruit Logistica 2016. Tom Hazelof, sales director of Wonderful Europe, says that the brand Pomegreat was bought over in 2015. "Of course we already have a pomegranate juice in our assortment, Pom Wonderful, but with Pomegreat we are serving a new market in the non cooled section of the supermarket."
Advantages in the area of logistics
Pomegreat is juice containing around 25% pomegranate concentrate, straight from their own Californian Wonderful pomegranates, making it a unique thirst quencher. "Pomegreat isn't 100% pomegranate juice, but before the takeover it was Pom Wonderful's only competitor in England. Now this brand is part of the Pom family. A big advantage of Pomegreat is that it doesn't have to be transported cooled, and can be stored for a year. This means a lot of advantages in the area of logistics, even to destinations far beyond Europe." At the moment Pomegreat is only available in the United Kingdom. "Soon it will also be available in the European supermarkets."
Pomegreat is priced lower in the shops than Pom Wonderful. "Some people want pomegranate juice, but find Pom Wonderful too expensive. Pomegreat is a cheaper option, but with the POM quality guarantee due to the direct link to our own pomegranates in California. We can serve a very wide audience with both pomegranate juices."
Wonderful will also be present at Gulfood from 21 to 25 February 2016.
