The Regulatory Board of the Protected Designation of Origin Cereza del Jerte (Jerte cherry) has received the accolade for "Best Promotional Project" at the 4th Besana Awards, which were presented in the context of the Agroexpo Fair. Other companies awarded were Land Fruit, in the Entrepreneur category; Tomates del Guadiana, in the Agro-Food Industry category, and Lola Fruit in the Agricultural Production category.
The gala, organised by Canal Extremadura TV and the Extremaduran producer Dosde Media, which is responsible for the agricultural and livestock news programme La Besana in a regional channel, took place at Feval and counted with the participation of the President of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara and the Councillor of Agriculture, Begoña García.

The Regulatory Board of the PDO Cereza del Jerte is an organization working to promote and certify the origin and quality of the protected products. Its main goals are to give visibility to the corporate image of the Protected Designation of Origin Cereza del Jerte and to promote the cultivation and marketing of quality cherries.
