China: opening of fruit Free Trade Zone in Guangzhou

A new Free Trade Zone officially opened at the Guangzhou International Airport at the beginning of this week. The new port allows Chinese imports to receive air freighted fruits from over 40 countries.

The project is jointly executed by the Guangzhou Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale market and the Jingdong Mall. Currently, over 50% of fruit and vegetables imported into China pass the Guangzhou wholesale market. The new Free Trade Zone will allow faster customer clearance and inspection services for import companies.
