Switch from Clementine to Nadorcott mandarins

Now that the Spanish season of Clementine mandarins is over, Willem Dijk will switch to mandarins of the variety Nadorcott. "These mandarins are easy to peel and have a bright orange colour. The deep orange fruit flesh is juicy, has almost no seeds and a strong mandarin aroma. This variety is especially popular due to the delicious sweet taste," says Ronnie Moorman.

"There is a huge demand for good mandarins. Every year we have to do with mediocre trade for a few weeks. Spanish clementine, Maroc mandarins, all 'not quite' trade, the specialist in particular isn't happy with what is available in January. As of next week the assortment will be back at the right level for mandarins. We are lading Nadorcott by Filosofo again, all sizes around 11 kg in the EPSM, as an extra premium we will also receive the Tangos by Aranda again, another level higher than the already excellent Filosofo Nadorcott," continues Ronnie.

Exclusivity of Queen-mandarins
The Aranda family also has an exclusivity over Queen mandarins this season. Queen is a 'cultivar hybrid' of mandarins, easy to peel, intense orange colour, a rich sweet flavour with a pleasant aroma. It further defines itself by being almost seedless, despite the sweet/slightly sour flavour it has a brix of 11 and a high juice percentage of 40%. The first harvest yields middle large to large fruits comparable to Satsuma, as Satsuma is one of its parents. These new mandarins are only marketed by Aranda, it is a protected variety. Aranda has all licenses for the coming season.
