France 4th place internationally in potato sector

According to FranceAgriMer, in terms of competitiveness, France is 4th place internationally in the potato sector. France can count on it’s strengths in the potato sector, which are the structure of the sector, the quality of potato plants, it’s position as leader in fresh export and it’s increase in production potential. Holland comes 1st place in the rankings, followed by Germany and Belgium. 

FranceAgriMer established this ranking based on the following criteria :
- Production potential
- Soil, climate and pathogenic environment
- Ability to conquer markets
- Market portfolios and balanced trade flow
- Structure of the sector and public support
- Macroeconomic environment
