Rapid development of greenhouse vegetables in Minqin

The scale of the greenhouse production industry in Minqin is expanding continuously. Up until October this year, a total of 2820 hectares (4.23 million mu) of solar greenhouses were constructed in the county. This is an average of 0.5 hectares (0.75 mu) per household.

Minqin County funded farmers in order to develop solar greenhouses. The total amount of 'double business'� provided by the county amounts to 4.098 billion Yuan, benefiting 24,800 farmers. To strengthen technical and scientific support, Monqin actively promotes "Ten key solar greenhouse technologies" and "Ten main greenhouse vegetable varieties". The cultivation scale increased from 21.9% to 79.8%, realizing an annual greenhouse vegetable output. The county built eleven industrialized cultivation centers to reach 100% coverage of seeds for the solar greenhouses.

In Minqin County there are 165 specialized solar greenhouse product development and marketing cooperative organizations and six greenhouse-training institutes for farmers. The county built 13 hectares (200 mu) standardized solar greenhouses with 25 demonstration points. Online sales models for e-commerce platforms like Alibaba, and Taobao are actively developed for muskmelon, ginseng, onions and other solar greenhouse products.
