Strong harvests mark start to Georgia cabbage season

Georgia farms are seeing a steady start to cabbage season, as farms across the state begin this year’s green cabbage harvest.

Sam Watson of Chill C Farms reports that his farms have just begun to harvest their crop. “Everybody down in Georgia is just getting started now.” Watson reports that early signs are pointing to a strong season.

Chill C Farms, which is located in Moultrie, Georgia, will be harvesting green cabbage through December. Watson reports that the region has seen some unusually wet weather, “We’ve had a lot of rain down this way,” but otherwise, conditions have been ideal, and crop yields are as expected. With demand consistent, Watson expects a steady, stable season for his product.

“Everything’s going pretty good.”
