Small scale but growing

Start of Shaanxi blueberry cultivation

Recently, the first Shaanxi Province Blueberry Industry Development Forum has been organised. Currently, Shaanxi's main fresh products are apples and kiwifruit. Blueberry production in Shaanxi province is growing. Currently there are 400 hectares (4,000 mu) of blueberry fields in the South of the province, an increase of 200 hectares (2,000 mu) compared to last year. Farmers are hopeful to benefit from growing domestic demand and to compete with blueberries grown in Shandong province.
