Rewe-Dortmund - digital entertainment at the freshcounter

Rewe Dortmund is further expanding Theken TV with the software PRESTIGEenterprise, and is meanwhile communicating its product offers and services, but also expertise, on over 400 screens in over a 100 markets.

In the Rewe market Neue MItte in Kamen, newly opened at the start of July, customers were digitally addressed, entertained and advised on over 2,600 square meters of sales area. Seven monitors altogether were installed for Theken TV behind the modern, spacious service counter. The software PRESTIGEenterprise enables Rewe Dortmund’s central advertising department to plan and mange the advertising content for over 400 large screens in over a 100 markets.




Informative Theken TV entertains customers
Already since 2012, Rewe Dortmund is banking on Theken TV in the area of fresh produce, also in the new market in Kamen. REwe Dortmund uses this digital means of communicating with its customers to convey the strength of the brand Rewe with a consistent appearance in all markets. At the same time, every retail trader gets the possibility to locally make a name as a competitive and powerful provider. In line with the intention: “Fresh products from the region, only available at your local Rewe Dortmund retail trader”, the Theken TV program is tailored to the customers and the different product groups. The information is about the offered products, their origin and optimal usage, among others. Through this, the Rewe retail trader locally shows expertise and builds trust.

Jörg Petzke, marketing manager of Rewe Dortmund, who in the past years has already guided the implementation of the software PRESTIGE for printing price tags, is convinced of the successful Theken TV concept: “The regional references in the information and the emotional presentation on the large screens behind the counters is occasionally decisive of a purchase. With PRESTIGEenterprise, we can immediately change all central content nationwide, while at the same time let local actions and requirements flow in seamlessly,” Jörg Petzke explains. “The software program enables control of several output medias, so that the content of all digital POS-media can be perfectly coordinated. In this way, customers in the market are comprehensively informed,” the marketing manager continues. “Furthermore, PRESTIGEenterprise is scale-able and can adapt to our growth without any problems, be it to the number of connected Rewe-markets or new output media. Because of this we are open to technological innovations that promote our trade. Thus the Theken TV concept could be successfully expanded on the market “Kamen Neu Mitte”, especially in the segment Rewe-Grill, respectively Heiße Theke.”
