France in the spotlight

Mabru's open night attracts 4000 visitors

On the night of Saturday, September 19th Mabru (Brussels wholesale market) held an open night from 1:00am to 9:00am. Anicée Henin says that the night went really well, "We had 4,000 visitors. Two years ago we had only 1,200. This mainly has to do with the fact that we promoted the open night better this year, we also used social media."

France in the spotlight
Throughout the night there was entertainment and product tastings in the 'Belly of Brussels'. "Most of the products came from France, a country that was placed in the spotlight this year. There were also flower arrangement shows in the flower hall with the following themes: weddings, live cooking and music. This was made possible by our sponsors."

"The busiest times were at 1:00am and around 6:00/7:00am," says Anicée.
"Exhibitors were very positive and presented themselves very well. The vendors were actively participating and there was only one trader who did not join in because the time did not suit them. It was a great success!" The visitors included both professional businesses and individuals.

AGF.nl was also present and created a photo album of the event and the exhibitors. Click here to see the pictures

22,000 visitors per month

The early wholesale market in Brussels, also called the 'belly of Brussels', offers a wide assortment of products for wholesale and retail, grocery stores and department stores, specialists in nutrition, market vendors, purchasers for collective kitchens, caterers and 'master chefs'. More than 100 growers and wholesalers sell their fruit, vegetables, new products, meat and meat products, poultry, game, seafood, cheese and dairy products. They also have cash & carry, flowers and plants. On average, Mabru receives more than 22,000 visitors each month.
