US: Increased peanut production

According to a prognosis of the "United States Department of Agriculture“ (USDA), the USA is expecting an increase in production this year.

According to this, a production quantity of 6.18 billion lbs (3.09 million short tons) is expected. This would be an increase of 19% compared to 2014. The cultivation area is the same as in June (635,350 hectares), but compared to last year, it has increased by 18%. The average yield is estimated to be 3,950 lbs per acre (1 acre = 0.404685 hectare) (a decline of 18 lbs compared to 2014).
