Findus Norway to speak at UK Vining Pea Industry Conference

With only two months to go to the final programme is nearing completion for the UK Vining Pea Industry Conference. The latest addition is Torbjorn Landsrop from Findus Norway who will be giving a presentation on pea growing, harvesting and freezing in Norway. Findus Norway, part of the group recently purchased by Nomad Foods, have their own brand in Norwegian supermarkets as well as supplying food service and private label sectors.

Torbjorn trained as an agronomist and is agricultural manager for Findus. He has been involved in the pea crop for twenty five years. Tim Mudge of British Growers said “We are delighted to welcome Torbjorn to the conference. He will provide a really interesting perspective on the industry as seen in Scandinavia.”

In addition to this Helen Simpson from Hatch Communications will deliver an update on the latest news from the Yea Peas! Campaign. Helen will be joined by the campaigns ambassador TV Chef Rachel Green. During the morning session Becky Ward from PGRO will brief attendees with the latest R&D news and Nathan Morris from NIAB will talk about the Critical P project.

The conference, which is sponsored by Syngenta, is aimed at growers, managers, agronomists, processors, seed companies, crop protection specialists and machinery manufacturers from the vining pea industry and is free to attend if you pre-register.
