Poland: raspberry cultivation booming business

The raspberry harvest in Poland has more than doubled in the last ten years: from 57,000 tons in 2004 to 127,000 tons in 2014. This comes from a report that was published by the Polish bank 'Bank Zachodni WBK'. Experts argue that raspberries are the most dynamic market for soft fruit and Poland has become the world's largest producer. According to the report, prices remain high for the third year in a row and export is growing. Polish raspberries go mainly to the EU market, with the biggest importers being Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria, reports NFO in their newsletter.
