Consumer prices higher than last year
The prices for foodstuffs in July 2015 were around 0.4 % higher than in July 2014. With this, the price increase has clearly weakened compared to the same month in the previous year. In June 2015 it still amounted to 1.0 %. In July 2015, especially fruit (+6.1 %) and vegetables (+3.9 %, among which potatoes: + 17.3 %) were more expensive than a year earlier.
However, when one compares the consumer price with the previous month, prices have dropped in July 2015. The prices for food products went back 0.7 % altogether. Especially fruit (- 3.6% ) and vegetables (-2.2 %) became cheaper.
